The product pictured on the Modloft's website appears to have a black base. This is a reasonable assumption looking at the photos in concert with the lack of any mention of base color in the description or specs. It is not black. It is a medium brown taupe. It goes with the walnut top. It does not go with anything in our home. Bummed and annoyed! Otherwise 5 stars (not withstanding the 3 months it took to get it in spite of it being "in stock").

It is a beautiful piece. Packaging was well done, arrived in perfect condition. White glove delivery was perfect too. The hiccup was finding the base was not black as shown in the online pics. Likewise, there was nothing in the description about the color of the base. The true color is a taupy medium brown. It goes with the walnut top. It does not go with our home. Bummed, Annoyed, Otherwise 5 stars (not withstanding the almost 3 months it took to get it).
